Call Me Online Feature On iPad 2?

The call me online feature has existed for a while now over the internet, and is widely, if you can say, used through mediums such as Skype to allow users to “call me online”. This basically allows peer to peer conversation over a virtual network, thanks to a host, the call me online ability has allowed users to waiver any surplus charges by their mobile phone networks, for a better, and to be honest more free option of calling each other online. The benefits of this are plentiful, one already mentioned before which is the fact that users can now have free access to eachother through the means of the internet.
However, there is more to the call me online feature then expected, with companies such as Skype capitalising on the sheer number of users who are ready to call eachother online. And to be honest, the response has never been so loud, and visibly, we can see that items such as Skype have become household names, elevating the call me online feature to become customs in every ones daily lives. This can range from booking a wedding to having general meetings, all call me online, and all for free.

Call Me Online VS Facetime

As ever, Apple likes to take on the big guns, and with recent purchase such as the 3D technology to rival Google Maps, is it possible that Apple will go native with the call me online feature? Well, unbeknownst to us, it has already done by Apple, and something which is FaceTime. Although picking up an already existing brand, the Facetime incorporates the call me online feature to allow specifically iPad users the ability to contact their friends and family, who must have an iPad 2 or iPhone 4S, over the medium of the internet or 3G. As ever we have our Apple restriction, and this may have been the downfall in the consumer experience of the call me online feature, Apple style. As we see with Skype, picking on Skype alot as it dominates the market, up to 200,000,000, yes 200 million users could be on at any single time, all doing various activities from contacting parents abroad to holidaying in the Alps.

Paid Call Me Online to Free?

A very important area for us to cover, as we see with the apple iPad the facetime feature is free and works with anyone who has an iPhone or iPad, however why then are people still drawn to paid services, and are paying for call me online services such as Skype? Well, its pretty simple, its free, fast and last of all lacks any restraints at all, go wild scream and shout!!
Its a free software which then allows users to buy call me online credits, which will allow them a more better and premium software, yes Apple dominates 70% of the market, but we see that more then 70% of the call me online feature is dominated by the likes of Skype, with Apple trailling way behind… Why? well in terms of what we saw, Apple restricted users too much, and enough was enough, Skype allows you to fulfill your full scope of people who you want to chat for free to online, whereas with Apple, you HAVE to buy an iPad otherwise, bye bye. Its visible from this, that services such as Skype, which incorporate the call me online service, are here to stay.

The iPad 3 Display Needs More Lights?

With speculation now gearing up as the holiday season comes up, it looks like in terms of the iPad 3 display, Apple are now showing movements in compliance to what leaks have already spilled about the upcoming iPad 3 display. This was all because of one massive problem which Apple had to face, whether to include 2 chips, a single LED light for the iPad 3 display, we presume it would not be enough to provide enough back light. Or to input 2 seperate LED lights, possibly making the iPad 3 more heavier, we are talking less then grams, however solving the backlight issue, and ensuring the iPad 3 display, has light, and more light. Furthermore, just to light up the iPad 3 display was not the only mission, it seems designers have also managed to solve battery and heat issues with the iPad through the integration of a second light.

A6 Processor Featured On The iPad 3

iPad 3 Display Bigger Will Be Better…

The bigger iPad 3 display will be able to provide better graphics, better user experience, and will just show Apple really showing the consumers what they can do, providing a 2048 by 1536 screen for Apple fanatics to use. And this is what led to the problem, but Apple being Apple, it didnt take them long to fix the iPad 3 display backlight issue. With rumours saying the iPad 3 will have more then 3 times the density of the existing iPad 2, thus requiring the extra LED support to ensure that the lighting is consistent, if not better, as because of the pixel ratio on the iPad 3 display, less light may come through because of the smaller windows.

Samsung Have Done What Apple Are Trying To Do With The iPad 3 Display

A number of claims have arisen, as the rumour mill certainly is hotting up ahead of the iPad 3 release. Many suggest that production of the screens may have already begun, with the production of the remaining parts occurring in December, thus leading to speculation the lauch will be in early 2012, say around Spring, mirroring the release date of the iPad 2 and the quirky Apple way of doing things.
However, in terms of the display, Apple is not the first, it is only hyped up to this extent we suspect because of how dominant Apple is within the tablet market. Their iPad accounting for over 75% of tablets used worldwide, and we expect this figure to grow, especially with the release of the iPad 3, and consumer heads turning towards the Apple way. However, we must confess Samsung has their own tablet to rival the iPad 3. This is the Galaxy Tab, sporting a whopping 2560 by 1600 display, also to be released early 2012, in direct competition with Apple. But with higher resolution, Samsung may just be facing more of the problems Apple faces, with its iPad 3 display.

GTA 3 On The iPad, We Take A Look

We have been closely following the release of GTA 3 on the iPad and are more then proud to say that the A5 chip found in the iPad 2, more then compliments the game. GTA 3 on the iPad itself, was a massive challenge in terms of adapting the software, harnessing the graphics, as well as constantly streaming the world around you, whilst the player transgresses it without any limits. Although, Rockstar do admit, bringing GTA 3 on the iPad would have been more of a headache, as it would not have adapted to last generation technology, and provided the seamless world for the user to explore.

And, Rockstar have also provided for future versions of GTA 3 on the iPad, making sure it is not scaled, therefore future iPad tablets would be able to deliver better graphics, quicker, faster reactions and an improved all round experience, with examples flying around such as PC like capabilities in terms of sliders and graphics.

GTA 3 On The iPad 2, Get Down To Business

As mentioned before, in our other posts, Rockstar are still tweaking and refining the controllers, specifically of the GTA 3 on the iPad. Due to the fact there is no external controller, and everything would have to be done on screen. he However, Rockstar are not just focussing on the basic controllers, but also button sensitivity aswell for example. Even though there are alot of adjustments to be made, and users may need to make a sacrifice to play GTA 3 on the iPad, we can say it does run absolutely spectacularly, recreating graphics similar to the PS2, and alot easier on the iPad.
Rockstars major ace is the fact that the final button scheme is down to the individual player. GTA 3 on the iPad will allow the user to adjust their appearance, change everything from the minimap, to resizing the legend, adjusting the buttons switching them around etc. The level of flexibility is very promising, encouraging, and downright exciting for GTA 3 on the iPad.

Now, After The Techie Bit, What Is GTA 3 On The iPad?

Very obvious, yet important question to ask, what does GTA 3 on the iPad bring to the user?
Well for a fact we can say that compared to the PS2 release, it is exactly the same with hardly anything changed in terms of story line and gameplay. Although a few adjustments have been made on missions, this is because of the touchscreen capabilities, and to allow the user to fully complete a mission whilst being comfortable with the new control scheme, this has a knock on effect on the difficulty levels aswell.
But, all in all, everything is still there for GTA 3 on the iPad, would many adult bits, such as using the services of a late night lady, being readily available, Rockstar justifying the move by saying that there is a market for this on mobile and console platforms, and GTA 3 on the iPad, will allow them to address both simultaneously. Although, we will have to see Apples reaction to this.

Other neat aspects such as the radio will be exactly the same as the GTA 3 on the PS2. Originally it was speculated Rockstar would add a few more stations, alongside custom user playlists imported from their library, however, efforts were more focussed on improving the gaming experience of GTA 3 on the iPad. Although patches will be integrated by independent developers we suspect, but it will not come as default.
All in all, Rockstar seem to be putting all their usual efforts, and quality on bringing a brilliant piece of gaming to a massive market. GTA 3 on the iPad will surely, at this rate, become a norm.

Unknowingly, and much to the despair of many iPad users who purchased a smart cover for around £30 from Apple, jailbreakers and hackers have now found an ideal way of overcoming any password lock put in to stop strangers from entering. This glitch allows the hacker to surpass the 4 digit code required to open the iPad, however, is personally set by the actual iPad owner. Trusting this to the bone, it looks like hackers have now used some glitch through the magnetic capability of the smart cover, to allow them access without ever having to torture the 4 digit code from the iPad owner.
And, as mentioned before, all that is needed is Apples unique, and much praised SmartCover. This was meant to be one of the unique features, and innovative methods of accessing the iPad 2, obviously released in conjunction and pushed out to many a iPad user. However now, the fact that it is magnetic has allowed hackers easy access through the front door, well they call it a back door access, meaning there is a loophole which has been discovered. The fact that the SmartCover is magnetic, enables the iPad screen to sense whether its closed or open, and acts respectively, using the electrostatic technology required for touchscreen.
However, it is exactly the iPads compliance to switch on, when it feels that there is no magnetic SmartCover, which allows hackers inside without a password. Therefore, convincing the iPad to overcome any password lock and enable access.
However, it is nigh on impossible to gain access to an individuals Mail or message system just by using these means.
And as we noted before, the iPad is conveniently fooled into opening even when a password is enabled. Interestingly, after the major hiccups when getting the iOS 5 online, we see that again, this iPad password hack emerges only weeks after the iOS 5 release, allowing hackers plentiful time to really enjoy themselves at all the little loopholes. With added speculation that it has affected the older iOS 4 carrying devices. Right now, hackers will only be able to access your iPad, and the last application in use, but not any further then that. We are banking on Apple to stamp this out before hackers manage to develop a method to enable them to traverse our iPads.
A security threat yes, as applications such as Mail, if they were to be the last used, would enable the hacker to search for rich private data, from bank details to addresses.
However, we recommend you simply disable the SmartCover unlock within your settings menu, until Apple release an official fix to combat this latest loophole.

GTA 3 iPad Release Date

Finally, and yes it has been confirmed by Rockstar well we think, the GTA 3 iPad release date, and consequently GTA 3, will be arriving on the iPad 2. The price? We do not know yet, however, the GTA iPad release date? Well it is scheduled to be around the 22nd of November, coinciding with the companies 10th year anniversary, and really surprising the iPad crowd. Although, a GTA game reminiscent of the PS2 (PlayStation 2) was wanted by GTA and iPad fans alike. And RockstarGames are happy to oblige, and in fashion aswell, by confirming their GTA 3 iPad release possibly to be on the 22nd. However, there are a few limitations, as Rockstar have decided that the A5 processor is ideal to run and support the graphics and quality required, although we are sure it will be available on the old iPad, do not expect it to run half as good as it would on the iPad 2. And to be honest, on the iPad 3, or soon to be released iPad 3, the GTA 3 app will look awesome, it is gearing upto be one of the hottest, and most awaited apps. And obviously the rumor mill is out there, and many iPad and GTA fans, are fervently looking to see if anyones slipped the GTA 3 iPad release date out, to the media.

The GTA 3 iPad Release Date is Coming, But Whats The Game Like?

As the news of the GTA 3 iPad Release date heats up, the iPad crowd are already going into a spiral, and as we all have expected, the GTA app revovles around a New York look alike, called Liberty City, and Mr Claude, a down and out criminal, planning the crime of the century. Well abit exaggerated, but planning to rob a bank with his female mate, Catalina, and one other male friend you meet as you traverse the complexities of this true to life game. You both, Claude and the male friend, will be duped eventually by Catalina, and set out on revenge, so it does mirror the original game, albeit with hyped up graphics so that the user can get the best out of the app. The GTA 3 iPad release date, as we know it, is on 22nd November, but price wise, considering what they plan to put forward, we are looking at the higher tier of apps. Although possibly after the GTA 3 iPad release date, you may just find similar apps developed by independent developers to rival GTA 3 on the iPad. But with such a massive following, all focussed on just the GTA 3 iPad release date, we do think that eventually all these independent developers will be squeezed out all because of the position GTA 3 holds in gameplayers worldwide.

Any Problems Before The GTA 3 iPad Release Date Is Announced?

A major issue that we reported before, and naturally will be a problem, is the change in controllers, from a physical controller, to a more on the screen control. Obviously with no external controls GTA 3 will have to be controlled on screen. Although opening up a market for individuals to create external controllers specifically for these games. We expect more news of Rockstars developments on this issue, closer to the GTA 3 iPad release date.
Well, as we know it, the direction controls will be on the left, whilst the motion, guns, shooting and running will be on the right whether it is breaking or running. With added flexibility to change the current position of any controls.

Well, as we know it right now, the GTA 3 iPad release date, is expected to be on the 22nd of November, greeted with cheers from both Apple and GTA fans alike, possibly, until they see the price.

Due to the advent of Google Maps, and what it enables users to do, and the fact it pulls in such a massive cluster of users, eventually Apple would want to go down the same route. And with millions of Apple iPad users, its logical that Apple would want their own, in house map system, far superior to Google Maps, so its more appealing and accessible for their users. This step towards dominating another market has always existed, and is another penchant for Apple as they grow, continue to grow, and ultimately expand their branches.
The idea to now reinvent, and capture the mapping market for Apple, has come abit closer to becoming reality, with Apple latest purchase of C3 Technologies, a company who create and assemble crazily realistic 3D Maps all to within 15cm of the actual object, and then integrate the 3D capability within 2D Maps and user photos.
We know what your saying, free iPad 2 maps have always been available, just go to Google, obviously this is the problem for Apple.
However, as said before, with close to 15cm of the actual real item, the Apple software is set to change the way iPad viewers, see and trangress the world, and completley free for iPad. Reality, within a virtual world of course, has not been better. With sweet flyovers, mimicking Googles Helicopter view, although seemingly alot better in quality, its understandable why Apple went ahead with this purchase, which happened over 3 months ago, although the company was still unknown.
And to just show you how eager Apple are to catch up, and overtake Google Maps, C3 Technologies happens to be the 3rd mapping company Apple has purchased within 3 years, following others such as Placebase, who focussed purely on extragant customisation and the layering of information on maps. With Poly9 being bought last year, which focussed in something similar to the Google Earth Project. These companies clearly specialised in different areas which make Maps so accessible and user friendly, thats why Apple were so attracted to them, put them altogether and you may just have a Google Maps killer.
This is just the usual for Apple though, as they always seem to buy companies which they will use, which is logical. The most recent being Siri, which is now evident on the iPhone 4S, and intends to revolutionise the way individuals operate thier mobile. With another success being P.A. Semi, who brought in the A4 and A5 processors, which are a must now, in all iPad models. Apple may be picky, but they sure do get them right, and with Apples track record, and recent purchases of these mapping companies, it may not be long before we get a free iPad Maps app, and Google gets a massive headache.

Over a year and a half later we finally received the new Facebook app, after much moaning and alot of complaining, for the new, well old iPad 2, and now, we discover why Facebook, a multi billion pound organisation, took so long to release such a simple app, to its 700 million plus users.
Abit of history, we can tell you now that Facebook is accessed everyday atleast 20 times by a user, and is the most popular and common app across all platforms, from iPad 2 to the iPhone 4S. But, a free iPad app for Facebook has been much awaited, well since the dawn of time, if you can say that time began when the iPad was released. And eventually, over time, many users became anxious and frustrated at the fact that there was no official Facebook app, especially when the iPad began dominating the tablet market.
However, we can reveal to you now, that Facebook were not that pro-active, and did not immediately set to work on their free iPad application. But, the reason Facebook were not hasty, was because, this was over a period where Facebook was rapidly growing, and investing in an application would take away Facebook engineers from the core site, to work on a spin off, and it was something Facebook at the time simply could not do.

Ethan Beard, the Director of Platform Partnerships at Facebook said in a statement:
“One of the challenges anyone has working on mobile experiences, is that there are a lot of different technologies and a lot of different platforms,”…“I remember when the iPad came out, we started saying ‘let’s cook up a team to work on this,’ but then we took a step back. We had PC Web, mobile Web, a low-cost site for emerging markets, an Android App, iPhone app, and BlackBerry app. We would’ve had more people inside Facebook translating Facebook from the app that we’d built, into all those other platforms than we did have working on the core experience.”

Therefore, from this statement we can see that Facebook was just being run ragged, as they tried to appeal, and to reach out to users on all emerging platforms. Thats what caused delays, and much to the annoyance of iPad users, after the free iPad app was set to be released, there were a number of hiccups. Reportedly completed in May and ready to be used by the wider world, Facebook did not release the app, possibly because they were trying to time it right with their mobile apps platform, or sync it with the iPhone 4S launch. Although, Steve Jobs death did hinder the release by a further 2 or so weeks.

All in all, the free iPad Facebook app has been released, and even though there are a few problems here and there, the app itself is beautiful, gives the user an easy experience, is back to basics, and implements simplicity. Going hand in hand with the Apple iPad.

As we seemingly wait for Apple to yet again revolutionise the way our world works in the upcoming Apple iPad 3 model, it seems that a long gone patent gives us glimpses into the crazy world of the Apple designers and engineers. To the point where your new iPad will respond to 3D gestures from across the table, from a swipe of your hand to a complete 360. Astonishing we know, but if anyone can do it, its got to be Apple.
The recemt Apple patent released enables the user to manipulate, change and control graphical elements on their iPad display, ranging from images, icons and also media files. Allowing the user to move, change or delete as they like. In terms of the gestures, these will be limited, or wont they? But to our knowledge there will be some constraints meaning that they will be in geometric shapes which the iPad recognises, and corresponds to a certain response, symbols, patterns or even basic numbers and letters.
As we delve deeper into the complex patent the Apple has outlined to ensure companies do not copy their ideas, an interesting aspect is that the patent shows video editing and annotating ie putting in text, cutting and mixing, all through an invisible, yet existant, gesture based toolbar. This would range from beginners to advanced users, providing pre-set options, but also the ability for the user to add any extras on, and fully customise their iPad gesture tool.

However, this is not the first time a like patent has been discovered. We have also unearthed a patent which goes hand in hand with Apples 3D venture. Outlining a possible integrated projector for their iPad models, which will come integrated with the above mentioned gesture patterns, allowing the user to manipulate which ever image is projected, and change what is visible on screen to them.
This new patent that has been unerathed is more gesture related, going indepth in the way Apple wants these gesture patterns, and the overall gesture language to work, either on screen or a distance away from the iPad itself. Furthermore, detailing the fact that these gestures will enable the user to manipulate text, videos and even music, providing the usual touchscreen experience, without the touch. Although a voice related, and also a combination of voice, Siri, and gesture language is not incorporated.

Naturally, we expect the projector to be installed in the iPads front camera, with the more recent iPad 2 model, and the new iPad 3 model is expected to have a front camera too. Therefore, its possible, for Apple to find a way of integrating this feature, possibly on a lower level, for the iPad 2, in a new iOS, to allow older iPad users to use the feature. Although, the free iPad 3 projector, well we expect it to be free if included on the iPad 3, will have a stronger and better response to this patent if it were put into play, due to the processor.

As mentioned, thats where the hiccup for older devices, such as the iPad 2, may stop it from allowing the user to experience this new gesture language. With reports that there simply wont be enough processing power to handle the gesture workload, and interpret it. This is because the patent highlights many gesture patterns, from facial recognition to selection and hand gestures, with the ability to transfer items from your iPhone to your iPad.

The rumour mill is going haywire, just as it did before the release of the prized Apple iPad 2. And with many Apple enthusiasts now looking towards the next iPad 3, many speculations have already been spun out that it will sport a new HD 2048 by 1536 pixel screen, with 264PPI. With only months left for the release date, although an official one has not been given, its still a nice treat for Apple enthusiasts to know that Apple are looking at upgrading hardware on the iPad 3, as opposed to software in relation to the iPhone 4S release.
As expected, the general consensus lean towards a March or April release date, and with Samsung confirming they are making a new supposed A6 processor, all hints point towards Apple gearing up for a release, and getting their production supplies ready. But here is another blow, his new free iPad upgrade is supposedly linked to Samsung, again, or interestingly LG as manufacturers. Both have history in the HD and plasma screen arena, and both hold their own.
And as expected, the status and quality provided by both, is good enough for Apple, even if they have a few lawsuits against you, ahem, Samsung. As Apple look to provide an upgrade to the dominating, and market leading tablet device.
And sources are coming left, right and also centre, revealing that the new 9.7 inch touchscreen display, featuring a whopping 264 pixels per inch, is scheduled to go into production from as early as November. This fits in perfectly with other reports with companies such as Samsung producing the A6 processor. It seems that the latter months of this year will hold valuable and tight production deadlines for Apples suppliers, so that demand for the treasured iPad 3 can be met once it is released early next year.
The problem here of course, is making crazy amounts of these screens, ie millions, again complimenting the massive iPad following that Apple has, and their dominance. Tight plans will possibly see suppliers working to deadlines to cope with the amount of iPad 3 models required on and after the release date. If anything like the iPhone 4S, and we are sure it will be, millions of iPad 3 models will be preordered, and millions will be sold in the first few weeks.
And with a better screen quality and also a retina display to be put on the iPad 3, as seen on the iPhone 4 models, many are suggesting this is the most likely upgrade on the iPad to date, with other possible upgrades such as increased storage, better camera quality, and also a slimmer iPad.

The new iPad 2 Countertop Display is on sale, and with its uses, is definitely creating a big buzz. Created by newMacgadgets the Countertop Display allows the user or business to cleverly advertise well anything, considering its an iPad 2. This allows the user to also rotate, on the spot, the iPad 2 360 degrees completely, and is specifically aimed at the business market, and to incorporates the numerous free iPad 2 business applications which can be found in the world known online App Store. Working in both portrait and landscape settings the iPad 2 display gives the business a chance to freely advertise their own business, or to advertise any other retail product or brand. Although limited by the iPad 2 screen, with new free iPad 2 apps such as AirPlay, consumers could potentially bring it to a screen near you, literally.

However, newMacgadgets are not newbies in this area, famously known for various products such as the iPad 2 Dock and the Wall Mount Display. Really taking hold of a new market, which obviously stems off the Apple iPad 2 craze, and now possibly dominating the market due to their emphasis on basic iPad 2 security, in terms of locks etc. within a more commercial environment, blending it with slick design, which are also durable, incorporating simplicity, and appealing to a majority of users.

The newMacgadgets Countertop Display securely fastens the iPad to any surface, all backed up with industrial strength screws, so yes, well hard to remove. With the clear cover keeping the iPad firmly in place. Ontop of the the acrylic frame comfortably, and tightly, holds the iPad 2 in place with various slots for the usb, headphones etc.

In terms of pricing, yes it is abit high, but considering the market they are directing the product towards, and its potential, most companies would possibly seize the chance and spend a cent to get a dime. But away from the cliches, the iPad 2 Display will fetch you around $99. However, considering the newMacgadgets has a whole line of successful products, means that it is quality assured, and that the product will do what its meant to do. Saying this, they do have over 20 years of business experience, and as an offshoot from newPCgadgets are doing very well due to very sleek, yet robust products and designs. And even then, its not like they have designed for the likes of Apple and IBM. I mean, come on…
