Unknowingly, and much to the despair of many iPad users who purchased a smart cover for around £30 from Apple, jailbreakers and hackers have now found an ideal way of overcoming any password lock put in to stop strangers from entering. This glitch allows the hacker to surpass the 4 digit code required to open the iPad, however, is personally set by the actual iPad owner. Trusting this to the bone, it looks like hackers have now used some glitch through the magnetic capability of the smart cover, to allow them access without ever having to torture the 4 digit code from the iPad owner.
And, as mentioned before, all that is needed is Apples unique, and much praised SmartCover. This was meant to be one of the unique features, and innovative methods of accessing the iPad 2, obviously released in conjunction and pushed out to many a iPad user. However now, the fact that it is magnetic has allowed hackers easy access through the front door, well they call it a back door access, meaning there is a loophole which has been discovered. The fact that the SmartCover is magnetic, enables the iPad screen to sense whether its closed or open, and acts respectively, using the electrostatic technology required for touchscreen.
However, it is exactly the iPads compliance to switch on, when it feels that there is no magnetic SmartCover, which allows hackers inside without a password. Therefore, convincing the iPad to overcome any password lock and enable access.
However, it is nigh on impossible to gain access to an individuals Mail or message system just by using these means.
And as we noted before, the iPad is conveniently fooled into opening even when a password is enabled. Interestingly, after the major hiccups when getting the iOS 5 online, we see that again, this iPad password hack emerges only weeks after the iOS 5 release, allowing hackers plentiful time to really enjoy themselves at all the little loopholes. With added speculation that it has affected the older iOS 4 carrying devices. Right now, hackers will only be able to access your iPad, and the last application in use, but not any further then that. We are banking on Apple to stamp this out before hackers manage to develop a method to enable them to traverse our iPads.
A security threat yes, as applications such as Mail, if they were to be the last used, would enable the hacker to search for rich private data, from bank details to addresses.
However, we recommend you simply disable the SmartCover unlock within your settings menu, until Apple release an official fix to combat this latest loophole.

GTA 3 iPad Release Date
Finally, and yes it has been confirmed by Rockstar well we think, the GTA 3 iPad release date, and consequently GTA 3, will be arriving on the iPad 2. The price? We do not know yet, however, the GTA iPad release date? Well it is scheduled to be around the 22nd of November, coinciding with the companies 10th year anniversary, and really surprising the iPad crowd. Although, a GTA game reminiscent of the PS2 (PlayStation 2) was wanted by GTA and iPad fans alike. And RockstarGames are happy to oblige, and in fashion aswell, by confirming their GTA 3 iPad release possibly to be on the 22nd. However, there are a few limitations, as Rockstar have decided that the A5 processor is ideal to run and support the graphics and quality required, although we are sure it will be available on the old iPad, do not expect it to run half as good as it would on the iPad 2. And to be honest, on the iPad 3, or soon to be released iPad 3, the GTA 3 app will look awesome, it is gearing upto be one of the hottest, and most awaited apps. And obviously the rumor mill is out there, and many iPad and GTA fans, are fervently looking to see if anyones slipped the GTA 3 iPad release date out, to the media.

The GTA 3 iPad Release Date is Coming, But Whats The Game Like?
As the news of the GTA 3 iPad Release date heats up, the iPad crowd are already going into a spiral, and as we all have expected, the GTA app revovles around a New York look alike, called Liberty City, and Mr Claude, a down and out criminal, planning the crime of the century. Well abit exaggerated, but planning to rob a bank with his female mate, Catalina, and one other male friend you meet as you traverse the complexities of this true to life game. You both, Claude and the male friend, will be duped eventually by Catalina, and set out on revenge, so it does mirror the original game, albeit with hyped up graphics so that the user can get the best out of the app. The GTA 3 iPad release date, as we know it, is on 22nd November, but price wise, considering what they plan to put forward, we are looking at the higher tier of apps. Although possibly after the GTA 3 iPad release date, you may just find similar apps developed by independent developers to rival GTA 3 on the iPad. But with such a massive following, all focussed on just the GTA 3 iPad release date, we do think that eventually all these independent developers will be squeezed out all because of the position GTA 3 holds in gameplayers worldwide.
Any Problems Before The GTA 3 iPad Release Date Is Announced?
A major issue that we reported before, and naturally will be a problem, is the change in controllers, from a physical controller, to a more on the screen control. Obviously with no external controls GTA 3 will have to be controlled on screen. Although opening up a market for individuals to create external controllers specifically for these games. We expect more news of Rockstars developments on this issue, closer to the GTA 3 iPad release date.
Well, as we know it, the direction controls will be on the left, whilst the motion, guns, shooting and running will be on the right whether it is breaking or running. With added flexibility to change the current position of any controls.
Well, as we know it right now, the GTA 3 iPad release date, is expected to be on the 22nd of November, greeted with cheers from both Apple and GTA fans alike, possibly, until they see the price.

Over a year and a half later we finally received the new Facebook app, after much moaning and alot of complaining, for the new, well old iPad 2, and now, we discover why Facebook, a multi billion pound organisation, took so long to release such a simple app, to its 700 million plus users.
Abit of history, we can tell you now that Facebook is accessed everyday atleast 20 times by a user, and is the most popular and common app across all platforms, from iPad 2 to the iPhone 4S. But, a free iPad app for Facebook has been much awaited, well since the dawn of time, if you can say that time began when the iPad was released. And eventually, over time, many users became anxious and frustrated at the fact that there was no official Facebook app, especially when the iPad began dominating the tablet market.
However, we can reveal to you now, that Facebook were not that pro-active, and did not immediately set to work on their free iPad application. But, the reason Facebook were not hasty, was because, this was over a period where Facebook was rapidly growing, and investing in an application would take away Facebook engineers from the core site, to work on a spin off, and it was something Facebook at the time simply could not do.
Ethan Beard, the Director of Platform Partnerships at Facebook said in a statement:
“One of the challenges anyone has working on mobile experiences, is that there are a lot of different technologies and a lot of different platforms,”…“I remember when the iPad came out, we started saying ‘let’s cook up a team to work on this,’ but then we took a step back. We had PC Web, mobile Web, a low-cost site for emerging markets, an Android App, iPhone app, and BlackBerry app. We would’ve had more people inside Facebook translating Facebook from the app that we’d built, into all those other platforms than we did have working on the core experience.”
Therefore, from this statement we can see that Facebook was just being run ragged, as they tried to appeal, and to reach out to users on all emerging platforms. Thats what caused delays, and much to the annoyance of iPad users, after the free iPad app was set to be released, there were a number of hiccups. Reportedly completed in May and ready to be used by the wider world, Facebook did not release the app, possibly because they were trying to time it right with their mobile apps platform, or sync it with the iPhone 4S launch. Although, Steve Jobs death did hinder the release by a further 2 or so weeks.
All in all, the free iPad Facebook app has been released, and even though there are a few problems here and there, the app itself is beautiful, gives the user an easy experience, is back to basics, and implements simplicity. Going hand in hand with the Apple iPad.

The rumour mill is going haywire, just as it did before the release of the prized Apple iPad 2. And with many Apple enthusiasts now looking towards the next iPad 3, many speculations have already been spun out that it will sport a new HD 2048 by 1536 pixel screen, with 264PPI. With only months left for the release date, although an official one has not been given, its still a nice treat for Apple enthusiasts to know that Apple are looking at upgrading hardware on the iPad 3, as opposed to software in relation to the iPhone 4S release.
As expected, the general consensus lean towards a March or April release date, and with Samsung confirming they are making a new supposed A6 processor, all hints point towards Apple gearing up for a release, and getting their production supplies ready. But here is another blow, his new free iPad upgrade is supposedly linked to Samsung, again, or interestingly LG as manufacturers. Both have history in the HD and plasma screen arena, and both hold their own.
And as expected, the status and quality provided by both, is good enough for Apple, even if they have a few lawsuits against you, ahem, Samsung. As Apple look to provide an upgrade to the dominating, and market leading tablet device.
And sources are coming left, right and also centre, revealing that the new 9.7 inch touchscreen display, featuring a whopping 264 pixels per inch, is scheduled to go into production from as early as November. This fits in perfectly with other reports with companies such as Samsung producing the A6 processor. It seems that the latter months of this year will hold valuable and tight production deadlines for Apples suppliers, so that demand for the treasured iPad 3 can be met once it is released early next year.
The problem here of course, is making crazy amounts of these screens, ie millions, again complimenting the massive iPad following that Apple has, and their dominance. Tight plans will possibly see suppliers working to deadlines to cope with the amount of iPad 3 models required on and after the release date. If anything like the iPhone 4S, and we are sure it will be, millions of iPad 3 models will be preordered, and millions will be sold in the first few weeks.
And with a better screen quality and also a retina display to be put on the iPad 3, as seen on the iPhone 4 models, many are suggesting this is the most likely upgrade on the iPad to date, with other possible upgrades such as increased storage, better camera quality, and also a slimmer iPad.

The new iPad 2 Countertop Display is on sale, and with its uses, is definitely creating a big buzz. Created by newMacgadgets the Countertop Display allows the user or business to cleverly advertise well anything, considering its an iPad 2. This allows the user to also rotate, on the spot, the iPad 2 360 degrees completely, and is specifically aimed at the business market, and to incorporates the numerous free iPad 2 business applications which can be found in the world known online App Store. Working in both portrait and landscape settings the iPad 2 display gives the business a chance to freely advertise their own business, or to advertise any other retail product or brand. Although limited by the iPad 2 screen, with new free iPad 2 apps such as AirPlay, consumers could potentially bring it to a screen near you, literally.
However, newMacgadgets are not newbies in this area, famously known for various products such as the iPad 2 Dock and the Wall Mount Display. Really taking hold of a new market, which obviously stems off the Apple iPad 2 craze, and now possibly dominating the market due to their emphasis on basic iPad 2 security, in terms of locks etc. within a more commercial environment, blending it with slick design, which are also durable, incorporating simplicity, and appealing to a majority of users.

In terms of pricing, yes it is abit high, but considering the market they are directing the product towards, and its potential, most companies would possibly seize the chance and spend a cent to get a dime. But away from the cliches, the iPad 2 Display will fetch you around $99. However, considering the newMacgadgets has a whole line of successful products, means that it is quality assured, and that the product will do what its meant to do. Following the recent release of the iPhone 4S, it looks like Rockstar wants to now branch out into the mobile app market with its worldwide success, GTA range. And now, with an inbuilt A5 dual core processor, with up to 7 times faster graphics, there has never been a better time then now to upgrade to the new iPhone 4S, or get an iPad 2.
The results of what games companies can bring to the iPhone and also the iPad are amazing. Similar products such as Infinity Blade 2, completely shocked everyone, with to the pixel clear graphics, everyone at who witnessed this at the iPhone 4S launch were truly taken aback.
But back to Rockstar and the GTA Series, they recently announced that the full GTA 3 game would be available not exclusively for the iPhone 4S, but will also go onto the Apple iPad 2, and also the Android market. All because its their 10th anniversary coming up. We say nows the time to upgrade to a iPad 2 because the mobile version will play on dual core processors, with the single core not able to handle the kind of hardware that Rockstar are going to need.
Yes, it is exciting, yes we want more, yes we want it now. But sadly Rockstar are yet to give a formal release date for their GTA III iPad app, although according to the online site IGN, and logically the 22nd of November should be the release date, as thats when the anniversary is. However, taking a game which heavily uses controller pads to a game which works with touch is no mean feat. The successes of GTA Chinatown for example really do reflect how hard it is. We hope the guys at Rockstar work out a way of overcoming this issue instead of slamming on a tiny D Pad.
Now as we know it, GTA 3 set the benchmark for really, truly immersive gameplay in a 3D environment, where the user is given free reigns, into a completely foreign and new world. Alongside, packing it with loads of missions, tasks, special items to keep the gamer occupied for days on end. This unique selling point propelled the GTA series to clench the best selling release, year after year, ultimately becoming a blockbuster consuming a huge user base. So yes, alot of peoples hopes are riding on them getting this right.
So much so, that Rockstar has put on sale a limited edition figure of Claude, which is 1:16, dressed in what he appears in the GTA game, cargo trousers, bomber jacket, LCS prison uniform, alongside a few lethal weapons, so 18+ please. All for just $150, ouch, but if you love GTA you will love this.

Polycom The worldwide market leader in social communication, which branches into areas such as video conferencing for businesses, data and web communications. Has recently released an application for the iPad 2, Motorola Xoom and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 which utilises the cameras to allow for high-quality video conferencing, wirelessly between all the tablet devices, running a point to point conversation.
The app itself is called RealPresence Mobile, and is completely free from the Apple Appstore, Android store and available to download on all tablet devices mentioned, ie iPad 2.
Although customers of Polycom who use their services, can register their devices, or applications to enable them access to an additional expansion of what the original, free iPad 2 app for example, has. This includes features such as content sharing alongside instant access to call directories.
The RealPresence Mobile app is compatible on VPN networks, allowing business users the ability to join company conferences over Wifi and 3G almost instantaneously, wherever they are.
Polycom, has realised a fundamental need for such a product, especially as there is rapid growth of tablets in use in the workplace. Therefore, an app like this would allow complete flexibility and utilise the modern age technology in a more productive way. With businesses looking for ways of integrating business telepresence systems that work on tablets such as the iPad 2.
Polycom details that its unique selling point is:
“The key differentiator for this application is based on the development relationship we have with the vendors so we are able to use our loss packet recovery technology to provide a high-level of call quality.”
Polycoms first release was on a specifically built Galaxy Tab 7″, which was put on show at the Mobile World Congress, which automatically had an astounding response. This then converted to a massive influx of demand for the product, which hinged the recent developments, with Polycom developers working to make the app as simple as possible to use.
And now, they feel they have reached the stage to release it globally, ensuring its a completely free iPad 2 app, alongside other market competitors.

As expected with Apples growing popularity and the release of record breaking products such as the iPad 2 and the recent iPhone 4S, it may not come as much of a shock to you that Apples iOS software accounts for over half of the US digital traffic, automatically burying existing competition such as the Windows software and Googles Android.
Recent data from comScore shows that the Apple iPad brings in over 95% of the traffic from tablets, and is now increasing its Internet share, overtaking the iPhone.
Heres abit of statistics for you, the iOS takes in more then 58% traffic from mobile internet, as compared to the Android with just under 32%, and the RIM Blackberry coming in at a surprising 5% share. Whats more surprising is the widely success Windows platform, branched out to the Windows Phone, scrapes an individual place, listed in other platforms, which collectively make up only 5%.
However, PCs still maintain a steady head in being the majority in bringing in online traffic, as overall less then 7% of internet traffic is mobile based. Yes its small now but in the near future, it can be and possibly will be huge, with the market booming, the growth rate is exponential, expanding more then 15% in the past year. As more internet enabled tablets and mobile phones become available for all consumers and at all costs, from high end phones such as the iPhone 4S to low end spec such as the Samsung Tocco. Enabling these devices to become widespread, and allowing the internet to be easily accessible, also thanks to the introduction of Wifi and Wifi hotspots.
Mark Donovan, the senior vice president of ComScore issued a statement saying:
“The popularization of smartphones and the introduction of tablets and other web-enabled devices – collectively termed ‘connected devices’ – have contributed to an explosion in digital media consumption,”…”As these devices gain adoption, we have also seen the rise of the ‘digital omnivores’ – consumers who access content through several touchpoints during the course of their daily digital lives.”
Nothing new, but tablets are the must have technology, especially centering around the iPad 2 craze, and the upcoming release of the iPad 3. Leaving a trail of companies in Apples wake, such as Samsung, HP, all looking to get a share of this growing and huge market, creating cheaper alternatives. And with US tablet owners ranging between 25-34, and with over 50% of them owning a tablet, it really is a huge market possibly appealing to one particular generation.
Furthermore, with the introduction of mobile shopping now allowing more then half of tablet users to make a purchase, enabling 2 out of 5 users the ability to access social media and breaking news, no wonder businesses are chugging out apps to enable access to their particular services. With the grip and appeal the Apple iPad 2 has, and the increasing sales of apps, mobile technology and internet is the way forward.
With the delayed release of the Apple iPad 3, the Amazon Kindle Fire looks to capitalise on the open market, alongside Windows 8 tablets, but are they just the cake, whilst the consumers wait for the cherry on the top?
