In contrast to what the Apple iPad 2 can offer, we now discover what we can offer the iPad 2, and how we can style up our new Apple gadget. Thats why we look at the Oberon design, which is trying to set itself out from existing iPad case manufacturers.
Abit of history for you, the Oberon company began making artistic leather and pewter products, specialising in leather craft, particularly for books. However, due to the recent iPad craze they expanded their product range, and creating leather iPad covers. Now with years of experience within the leather area, their ability really does shine through. In contrast to the vast amount of iPad and iPad 2 covers, Oberon have created theirs specifically based on design, to excel in beauty, and to make them stand out in the market, with intricate details and traditional leather design.
When choosing your own iPad 2 Oberon case, you have a very boastful selection of designs, patterns and also colours, all with very mystical, elaborate names from Mystical Blue to Creekbed Maple. Furthermore, having colour choices ranging from red to purple to black. Whats more exquisite is that each iPad 2 cover is made when the order is given, with neat little touches such as whether you want a hole for the camera lens installed.
In particular the Red Cloud Dragon Cover for the Apple iPad 2 caught our eye. Testimony to the workmanship at Oberons, its an brilliant product to handle. Transforming the mundane and sharp black or white iPad 2, into more of a piece of artwork, careful thinking and hardwork. Oberon relay their years of experience in leather with an excellent quality leather, which is thick and rigid, strong so it will do a good job in looking after your iPad 2 if it were to have a trip down the staircase.
Furthermore, Oberon have included a large pocket on the inside of the case, accompanied with a much smaller pocket, possibly to hold your iPod Touch, business cards etc. The front of the flap has wool felt material in place to look after your iPads display, keeping it clean, scratch free and most importantly safe from most elements.
Your iPad 2 would be held pretty tightly by 3 corner straps you guessed it, all leather, with a 4th strap made from bungee cord. Another bungee cord has been included to keep the case closed, wrapping itself around the Britannia Pewter button, which correlates with the whole design of the case. Weighing in at 15oz it is still usable in day to day life, with extra modifications such as being able to use it as a type and viewing stand.
Now, we move onto the price of such an elaborate case. It is priced around £70-80, abit costly and more then your standard run of the mill covers, but from what we have experienced, abit more money adds abit more luxury. We feel its one of the most exquisite covers we have come across. Really adding to the design of the iPad 2, and most importantly making it your own. It sufficiently protects your iPad 2, unless you attack it with a hammer, albeit with abit more flair, style, and design. It will be brilliant addon for the iPad user, and is a complete, well rounded product.
